Carbonado

Carbonado is where men once dug black diamonds from the ground -- coal from the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Beyond Carbonado, a summer-only highway leads along the Carbon River into the northwest corner of Mount Rainier National Park. Hikers enjoy exploring uncrowded trails in the area.
