Aberdeen
The hub of Grays Harbor County, Aberdeen offers a walking tour of Broadway Hill historic homes and a paved path along the Chehalis River through Morrison Riverfront Park.
Downtown has added an unusual feature, too, with bird cages that contain metal replicas of mythical endangered species. Aberdeen is the home of Washington state's tall ship ambassador, the Lady Washington.
Aberdeen is also the hometown of the late grunge-style rock star, Kurt Cobain, frontman of the band Nirvana. A statue that depicts the unshaven Cobain seated and playing the guitar with a single tear rolling down his face can be viewed at the Aberdeen Museum of History.
