Most farms’ pumpkin patches are open from the end of September through the month of October, so plan accordingly to get the best picks!
Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm, Snohomish
Hop on the free hayride to get to the 40-acre pumpkin patch featuring more than 60 types of the orange treasures. The farm, country store and 10-acre corn maze are especially festive to visit in the fall. Kids' activities include a cow train, apple cannon and playground. Plan a night visit to the corn maze, where you can also rent one of its 18 fire pits and explore the labyrinth by flashlight.
Rutledge Corn Maze, Olympia
While Rutledge Corn Maze’s pumpkin patch has giant pumpkins and tractor hayrides (upon request), the corn maze is the farm’s main attraction. Featuring a new theme every year, the corn maze hosts kid-friendly “Farm Scene Investigation” activities and haunted maze experiences on weekends. Past corn maze themes include Captain Phil Harris from “Deadliest Catch,” the vampires of “Twilight” and Seattle Seahawks’ player Marshawn Lynch.
Jubilee Biodynamic Farm, Carnation
Every weekend in October, Jubilee Farm provides hayrides to its fields of U-pick pumpkins and gourds, access to U-pick flowers, a kids’ hay maze, cooking demonstrations and 30 acres of cropland for the public to explore. Enjoy lunch and snacks among gorgeous views of Washington’s Snoqualmie Valley, watch some of the farm’s cattle, pigs, sheep, turkeys, chickens and ducks in action and take home some local, organic produce.
Carpinito Brothers, Inc., Kent
Carpinito Brothers’ pumpkin patch spans more than 20 acres of land, guaranteeing there’s a pumpkin for even the choosiest picker. Two themed corn mazes, a hay maze for littler ones and a barn full of furry farm friends add extra fun for kids while parents can stock up on seasonal farm-grown favorites at the produce stand (Carpinito’s sweet corn is always a crowd pleaser).
Bi-Zi Farms, Vancouver
One admission ticket to Bi-Zi Farms' Pumpkin Patch and Harvest Festival during weekends in October gets you one pumpkin (any size you can carry) and access to the corn maze, baby animals and children’s activities such as a pedal-tractor driving, calf roping, pumpkin launching and corn shelling and grinding. At 5:30pm each evening, the animals are fed and put to bed—and Bi-Zi Farms welcomes visitors to help with the chores.
Spooner Farms, Puyallup
Spooner Farms’ annual month-long Harvest Festival includes the harvest of more than 45 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, squash and ornamental corn. Even those not hunting the perfect pumpkin will appreciate the corn maze, pumpkin slingshots, pedal karts and duck races. Plus, who could resist sweet treats like roasted corn, caramel apples and popcorn?
Creek House Farm, Port Orchard
